Beaker's Aviators

:)

He's so suave.
Chillin' with Jesse and Erik tonight.

Went to Barnes and Noble before, bought "The Buddha Said..." by Osho. The 46ways... book was $40. BAG THAT. I'm going to read this one, and then Gandhi's book on non-violence.

Made more of Jesse's Rasta scarf today... switched to yellow. Knitting is hard.
Tomorrow will be filled with work and studying and band practicings. AWESOME.

Then Thursday will be filled with exams and paper-writing. SUPERDUPER. Friday, will be fun-filled, however. Working until 2, and then getting ready for Jesse's show at C.W. Post's Tilles Center. (Apparently Gavin DeGraw played there recently..)
Saturday will involve longboarding!
Sunday will, too! That, and paper-writing.

I've been feeling less of an urge to go on Facebook, and more of an urge to write about stupid shit in my life. Once narcissistic website to another. Well, I guess writing is better... Works on the brain more than staring at people's drunken photographs.

I want to put a book together of my photos over the years... I can't keep printing up individuals and try to slap them into an album, my room would be FILLED with albums. I'll probably pick 1,000 of my favorites (I have a lot of photos) and throw them into a bound book. It'd be nice.

I've been a lot calmer lately. Meditating is nice, so is yoga. I like the discipline in yoga, and strength exercising. I know that I can go when I want to, but I don't because I know it's best for me. It's helping me to discipline myself... As you can see, I'm not fully disciplined-- I'm on the computer writing random shit about myself instead of studying for my Geology exam on Thursday.

... I'm a work in progress.

P.S. Remind me to never use spell check on this thing... the highlights are annoying.

Grind

I just realized that it's been a little over a year since I've started this rant-space.

Really, it's a rant-space being that nothing useful is ever posted here... it's more or less like a public journal. It makes no sense, really.

I just watched "It's A Wonderful Life" with Jesse. It always brings me to tears with it's happy ending... every time!

I was reading Jason Mraz's tweets and journal -- FreshnessFactorFiveThousand.blogspot.com, and saw that he talks about "Be Love", found it interesting and looked it up: It's amazing. It's really zen-like, calm, and non-violent. Definitely something I need at the moment, because stress has made me a violent, angry, neurotic mess. It's horrible. So, I'm hoping to find solace with Be Love, I will look into it's 'handbook' 64 Ways to Practice Nonviolence and hope that it brings me what I need. I think it will. Jason Mraz seems to be one of the more zen-like people I've ever seen... hopefully it works for me.
I need something to keep me calm, cool, and collected. Something I can find within myself, a change in lifestyle if you will. And Jesus is not the answer.
Three cheers for Be Love! Keep your fingers crossed. I can't keep my temper as short as it's been... (I almost decked somebody that decided that feeding the deer at the beach was a great idea. It's not. It's also illegal, because that's what attracts them to cars. And then they get run over and die. Vicious cycle.)

B is for Bob.

I vaguely remember Jesse telling me about this album. It's probably been around for a while, seeing that Noggin which has had time to turn into Nick Jr. again, made the video since it was still called Noggin. It's really cool, though; it's a reggae album that Ziggy Marley put together of Bob Marley's songs. He re-did them so that it's easier for kids to listen to.

He did another album like that called "Ziggy Marley's Family Time" which I knew about, because when it came out, Jesse and I bought it for Kristina, Bernie, and little baby Michael just after he was born. They have good taste in music, and I doubt they'd want to be listening to Raffie's "Baby Beluga" all the time. I believe "Family Time" has a lot of spoken word in it, I think Jamie Lee Curtis reads a story or something, and Jack Johnson does a few songs... it's cool.

So, anyway... Last night, Jesse and I were babysitting his 3 year old cousin, Alexandra. We were watching Noggin/Nick Jr./ whatever you want to call it, and a song from "B is for Bob" came on. Noggin/Nick Jr./ whatever made a music video for "Three Little Birds". It was probably the most adorable music video I have ever, ever, ever, ever seen. I couldn't help but smile. The Sun in the music video, is seriously the happiest Sun ever. It's adorable.

But my favorite part, is that Alexandra enjoyed listening to Bob Marley. Understanding that her dad is like... battling Elvis for the position of the King of Rock and Roll, it's exciting to get his little one listening to reggae music. She listens to a lot of pop music because of her daycare and stuff, but not reggae; her dad hates reggae. So, of course, after seeing that she enjoyed Bob's "Three Little Birds" we threw some Bobby McFerrin on YouTube and had the little one watch it, she liked that, too. Again, with Jack Johnson, and some Weezer. (We watched "Don't Worry, Be Happy", "Upside Down", and "Island in the Sun")

It was fun introducing Alex to new music. I'm never able to do it with my cousins because... I don't think they're allowed to even listen to music. So seeing that reggae music made her as happy as it made us was exciting.

Hawaii?

I miss my Hei Matau. Bret best be taking good care of it... Maybe it's in Hawaii right now. I'm certainly not... Lucky necklace. I am here, in New York, dogsitting Bosley for my neighbor. He's cute. He follows me around everywhere. I love it.

Going to 311 Day in March. :)
Booked the hotel a few weeks ago, and got the tickets on Saturday. All that's left is an airplane to get us to Vegas. Yeah, 311Day isn't in New Orleans (N'Orleans?) this time.. there was a poopy medical convention planned for that week, so 311 couldn't guarantee any hotels to be blocked out for their fans to stay in. It's a dumb situation, but! I get to go to Vegas, now! :D So, that line on my 101 in 1,001 must be changed from "Go to 311 Day in New Orleans" to "Go to 311 Day in Vegas" because my 1,001 days will be over by next 311 day. And and and: Moon and Dave are going tooooo! <3>
Bret told us he might be able to get us to meet the band on 311 day. It'd be sick.

Jesse, too, has a link to 311...
Are you ready for it?... Here it comes...
He is now proudly endorsed by DIAMOND AMPLIFIERS!
That's right. You know... 311's guitar player... that guy, Tim Mahoney. Welllll if you look at his INTENSE-ASS rig, you'll see that it features all things: DIAMOND AMPS. YES. Jesse and Tim Mahoney are now co-endorsees. THATS FUCKING RIGHT!
I'm so proud. Also- same day- somebody in the Netherlands made a fan page on their version of Myspace for Hazmat Bay. An endorsement AND an out-of-country fan page?! In one day?!@ FUCK YEAH.

Tomorrow night is the celebration of good things that happened this week. I love it! BTW, as of this morning, I'm mostly debt-free. (Aside from school loans) Good stuff.

Was invited to Hawaii or Puerto Rico on Tuesday. Ashley invited us to pick where we wanted to go, and we'd go this winter. BUT we're saving up for 311Day in Vegas so we can't go this winter. Re-scheduled for next winter. Boo-yeah. I lean towards Hawaii... even though we can't stay with Pepper... they sort of live in California now.

Much bullshit has been going on, on the Sublime battle.
In a nutshell:
Bud&Eric- let's play again! :D
Nowell family- no!
Silverback Mgmt- How the Hell did I get dragged into this?
Court order- no!
Bud&Eric- ohh man. D:

So there's like 100x more drama than mentioned above... but that's the jist of it.

That's it. Stony Brook is evil. REAL fucking difficult. Work sucks, but hey, it's money that will get us to Vegas, + Christmas shopping.

I'm done.
